My
second novel
The hero in this novel is desperately in need of compassion. He's a widower of less than a year, and he's still trying to come to grips with his loss. He's not a very pleasant person to be around most of the time. Not that he's mean or ill-tempered... he's just well, depressed.
Enter our heroine! She's single and very well liked... and a lovely compassionate woman. She comes to his aid during a crisis, and he never knows what hit him!
But how will his family react to this new relationship? And why can't he get over the feeling that he's being unfaithful to his late wife?

"Ava tells a story beautifully through the pictures she paints with her words. Wonderfully poignant. Love the second time around is special and precious."

My first novel
My first published book is a tear-jerker, so be sure to have plenty of tissues close at hand. At least that's what my beta readers said. And truth be told, I cry every time I read it and I know what's coming!
The heroine of my story is a 41-year old woman. <gasp!> Forty-one? Not a twenty-something girl? It's true. She's 41. And she has cancer. (I wasn't going to tell you that, but you'd figure it out as soon as you read the back cover of the book anyway.)
The story begins with our heroine struggling to come to grips with the idea of having surgery. Enter the hero! He helps her through the ordeal, and guess what? They fall in love! (Betcha didn't figure that one out!) The story continues as they deal with her medical condition and their new-found love.
It's a romance, absolutely. But it's also a story of coping, of learning to lean on someone else, and of realizing that it isn't the body that makes a person who she (or he) is... it's the soul.

"Ava's powerful messages of love, support, and hope resound though her moving first novel. The romance that develops between Sarah and Bill is moving and tender. This novel is a testament to love and hope. I recommend this novel to any woman but especially any woman suffering with cancer. An emotionally uplifting read!"
